Ashoknagar, Madhya Pradesh, has taken a significant step toward economic and technological growth with the inauguration of its first-ever Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) center. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia presided over the event on Saturday, marking what he called a historic moment for the region.
Speaking to ANI, Scindia highlighted the uniqueness of the initiative, emphasizing that this was the first time in India that four major telecom companies had collaborated to establish a call center in a single location.
“Today, history has been made. For the first time in the country, four major telecom companies, including Airtel and Jio, with a combined 40 crore subscribers, have come together to set up a call center in one place. This has never happened before. Ashoknagar has achieved a significant milestone, marking a major step forward for the region,” he stated.
Following the inauguration, Scindia took to social media platform X to express his enthusiasm, stating that the new BPO center would create fresh employment opportunities in the IT sector for local youth.
“A new chapter has been added to the history of Ashoknagar! Today, the first world-class BPO center in Ashoknagar was dedicated to the youth. This center will open new doors of employment in the IT sector for the young generation,” Scindia posted.
He further emphasized that the establishment of the BPO center would enable local youth to work for global companies without having to migrate to larger cities.
“This is not just a center; it is a platform to help our youth achieve their dreams. Now, the youth of Ashoknagar can work for global companies in their respective fields while staying in their hometown,” Scindia added.
Scindia concluded by stating that this initiative would not only boost employment but also put Ashoknagar on India’s IT map.
“This historic step will provide a competitive edge in employment opportunities and help Ashoknagar carve out its own identity in the IT sector,” he said.
